Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where does the white cedar you use come from?
A. We use eastern white cedar which grows in abundance in nothern Maine and Quebec as well as in Nova Scotia. The wood is grown and harvested under strict environmental standards. All trees harvested are replanted for the next generation.

A. Eastern white cedar has a well-deserved reputation for durability and natural rot resistance. It has been used for hundreds and hundreds of years as a roofing material in the form of shingles, fences, fence posts and pilings. Q. Do you guarantee your furniture and storage products?
A. All of our furniture is 100% guaranteed for one year following your purchase. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase let us know and we will refund the purchase of your order minus the shipping. If, due to workmanship, your piece fails please notify us so that we can either send you a replacement part or an entire replacement piece. We pride ourselves on being a customer driven company.
Q. What company do you use for shipping ?
A. Cape May Box Co. uses FedEx Ground for the majority of our shipments. Our Classic 5 Deck Box is shipped via FedEx Express due to its large size. A overweight charge is required for that piece. For assembled orders such as cusotm sized deck boxes, refuse containers, and other products that are too large for FedEx Express, we use FedEx Freight. Shipment by Freight can cost more money and that quote will be provided over the phone.
Q. How long will my order take to arrive?
A. We try to ship most of our products the same day they are ordered. If for some reason there will be a delay we will contact you. Most orders take from 1-6 days from the date of shipment to arrive. Custom orders have a minimum two week shipping delay.
Q. How will my order arrive?
A. Most of our furniture is shipped flat packed, meaning there is some assembly required. For example, The Classic 4 Deck Box comes in 6 pieces. It has 4 sides, a lid and a bottom. All of the holes are pre-drilled, each panel is marked with a letter, and hardware is included. The Classic 4 Deck Box takes about 20 minutes to assemble with a Phillips head screwdriver. Some customers order assembled boxes. Call us for details.
Q. How can I finish your furniture?
A. Cedar wood takes stains wonderfully. There are many colors on the market today and for outdoor items, adding a coat every year or so will keep your furniture looking vibrant. Cedar has naturally occuring oils that keep the wood from rotting. If you choose to let your piece age naturally it will turn a silver-gray and the wood will not be affected at all. In fact, the natural oils help prevent decay andward off insects. If you would like to paint your piece we suggest that you apply an outdoor primer and two coats of outdoor paint.
